Canyon Software

Just the FAQs The following is a list of the most frequently asked questions sent to Canyon Software Technical Support.

Q:

Every time I run Power File it opens up on the C:\Program Files\Power File directory. How can I have it open on the directory of my choice, or on the directory I used last?

A:

To have Power File open on a specific folder, you must add the full path of that folder as a command line argument. For example: to have Power File open to the C:\Windows directory, add the line C:\Windows to the Power File Shortcut. In addition add C:\Windows to the Start In field.

Remember: For this feature to work properly, you must run Power File from the Start Menu or a shortcut.

Q:

I see newer versions of the software on the web page. How do I go about getting upgrades.

A:

For upgrades to Power File, Power File Gold and Drag And Zip, please see the pages where these files are downloaded from for upgrade information.

Drag And View version 4.5. Is the same as version 4.0 minus viewers for Power Point, CorelDraw, WordPerfect Graphics, Hewlett Packard Graphics language and Acrobat. We lost our right to distribute these viesers so we had to come out with the new version. If you're already registered for Drag And View v.4.0, there's no need to upgrade. If you're registered for an earlier version of Drag And View, the upgrade price is $20 for a downloadable version or $25 for a version with a CD ROM and manual.

Q:

How can I make Drag And View work with Norton Navigator?

A:

Norton Navigator does not support "Context Menu Extensions" like Explorer and other file managers. Drag And View must be added manually to the Norton Navigator menu. To add Drag And View, proceed as follows:

  1. Right click on a file to access the Pop-up menu.

  2. Select "Popup\Customize Popup."

  3. Select the Menu Tab, then add the menu item:
    Drag And &View

  4. Select the Commands Tab

  5. In the "Command Name:" field, type:
    Drag And View

  6. In the "Command Line:" field, type: the full path and filename, then type %SELECTION%

    For example:
    c:\dv\dv.exe %SELECTION%

  7. In the "Working Directory:" field, type the full path of the drag And View application.

    For example:
    c:\dv
